Anybody on here traveling on that ferry? Am heading out on a GSA for trip round Spain culminating in a three week holiday in Majorca where the family comes out to meet me!

Need someone to share a beer or two with!:beerjug:

It's a cut and past from another place. But my post. Intrested?

I'm looking at going to Spain in September. Hoping to catch the crossing on the 5 Sep. From Dover, and be in Spain on the 8th. I have my eye on a complex booked just the French side of Barcelona. About a grand all in. Unless you go daft then one and a half grand. Stay over night on the fourth in Dover £10 per night. Up early catch the early morning crossing. Then fly down to Poitiers, Then on to Pau, or Perpignan on the French coast. Making the crossing in to Spain on the Saturday. Those of you that can count will see there is an extra day in there. The idea is. Either leave a day earlier and arrive on time, or spend two night's at one place and ride round and see what's on offer.

Any one interested mail me here.

John, Doubt if it will work for me, as I have the ferry booked on the 4th, and another from Valencia to Palma on the 8th. I will be coming back up through Spain and france on the 25th.

Looking forward to getting away from the bloody rain!!

If you're going to Majorca be sure to take your lycra and cleats with you. Wonderful, wonderful cycling country.

Hi Ruadh,

I was planning to cross on 4th Sept too but all booked up. Have you got double or single and/or have you got someone to share cost etc.

I am riding down from St Andrews, plan to tour through Spain then on to Morocco then to return up through France and back to Blighty at the end of the month.

I have a plan B to cross through euro tunnel and down through France but was keen to cut that part out and hit the warm weather!

Anyway either way, have a great time.

Regards Jim

Hi Jim,

I have got a single booking, down in the bowels of the ship somewhere, and that was making the booking about 6 months ago!
You would have thought they could squeeze on a bike and rider!

Paul

No worries Paul, I'm in for the long haul I think, plan B, after all they say its the ride not the arriving that counts!

So France, across to Baden Baden, down through Switzerland, Italy, South of France, Spain, Portugal, Spain again then across to Morocco (coast through Casablanca to Marrakesh then return through Atlas), back through Spain and France. Arse is twitching a bit already, think I'll need a gel seat!

Oh and a beer when I arrive!!

Have a good one

Jim

Sounds a marathon trip!!

I will be leaving Barcelona to ride back up the scenic route through France to Scotland, on the morning of the 26th Sept. Hopefully aiming to cross Cherbourg to Portsmouth on the evening of the 28th

If you fancy a companion for that leg home, let me know and we could meet up!

I have already bought a Sergeant seat for the journey!

Paul

hi, does anyone recommend anywhere to stay when we get to santander, probably wont fancy a ride when we get there at 5 - 6pm , mate gets sea sickness

santander or slightly out of ? cheers

I am booked in the parador at Santillanda del mar, about 17k out of Santander, good hotel, and ideal location for first night. :beerjug:

That's a pity, it was a few weeks ago I booked. Apparently there are quite a few decent hotels in the town, as it is a holiday area.

Look forward to meeting you on board,

Setting of first thing tomorrow, as I have 500 miles to get to Portsmouth, stopping night, south of Brum.

Cheers

Paul
