Admins, hope this is ok to post in here etc... ** Fine to post it, but I'll move it to the vendors section ;) Bill**

I know a guy who can get the EXO2 heated stuff, cheaper. He works in a factory where they are made and iv'e got myself a Stormrider heated vest + controller and some insoles.

Iv'e told him i would set him up with an account on here if there was enough interest and he can then sell them himself.

They retail out at £179.99 and the controllers are £39.99 and he's selling the vest+controller for £150 or just the vest for £125.

I don`t have a price on insoles yet or the gloves but he can get them all as far as i know and also the walking jackets etc.

They would come with a 1 year warranty so should they be defect in any way he can return them so should be no probs there.

I'm posting to basically gauge interest and if there is enough he'll be on soon to take some orders.

I'm gonna wire mine up at the weekend, after a damn good wash, some ACF50 and an oil and filter change :D (she needs it!) so i can let you know what i think of the vest.

Cheers,

Craig.

The Keis vest is £90RRP does the same job and normally includes a free controller so the Exo stuff still seems overpriced at the prices you quote.

Yes the exo is overpriced thats why i havent bought one retail, £180 without a controller, yeah right. But at the reduced price i thought it was a half decent deal.

The EXO is made of some good stuff if you google it, airxtreme and doesnt use heating wires like other vests, probably why it's so expensive.

Just thought i'd let peeps know so they are there if anyone wants any.

He can also get gloves as far as i know.

I have been using one of their vest for a while now...brilliant bit of kit, you don't need the controller in my opinion but each to there own. And your right it has no wires in it etc.

He is going to do the vest alone for £125.

What are the prices for the following:

STORMWALKER 2 Heated Jacket
Mans Heated Ski/Outdoor Gloves

I've already got the heated vest, brill bit of kit :thumb2

I would be interested in the Stormwalker 2 Jacket, don't need the controller.

I would require this fairly promptly if price is right

This DIY kit works well & is very cheap . Why pay more ?

Because that kit doesn't provide heated PANELS :blast

Or provide a battery that is integrated with all items of clothing, is lightweight, easy to charge and portable (off the bike). Or heating that is already sewn into an item of clothing.

You pays your money.... :beerjug:

Stonetown, are the sleeves in the jacket actually heated? I can't see it says they are anywhere.

Sleeves are not heated on any of their jackets. They call their gilet a vest, but it is made of outdoor material and is more of a gilet, still thin enough for wearing under motorbike jacket or any other jacket e.g. walking waterproof.

Personally I find the heat from the motorbike gilet enough not to bother about sleeves, which is why I own a gilet for the motorbike rather than a sleeved jacket which is more bulky. Body heating theory says that if you keep the core warm, then the extremities also stay warm as the blood is circulating warm to those extremities, it works for me! Sometimes I am sure I can feel the heat 'leak' out through the cuffs and neck when I step off the bike it's that good! For a bike gilet there are many factors that determine how warm you will be:

Body Physiology (do you run hot or cold, do you feel the cold)
Wind protection
Speed
Temperature (obviously)
Time on the bike
What setting the controller is (I use this alot and think it's worth the extra)
The fit of the gilet, if it fits closely you will gain maximum heat, the looser it is the cooler it is.

I have no trouble staying warm at zero degrees for 2 hours (about the longest I've ridden before stopping) with a work shirt on, heated gilet and Rukka jacket with liner out (essentially the gilet replaces the Rukka liner for 3 seasons).

For their walking jacket they don't have the panels in the upper back and chest area, just in the kidney and pockets, I guess the trade off is that the battery will last longer with less panels, on the bike it makes no difference as it is bike powered. The gilet is designed without a collar to fit under a Mcycle jacket, the StormWalker has a collar. Also the heated panels are integrated within the lining of the jackets, I guess for the mcycle you will not be sweating so it doesn't need to breathe as much but for the walking jackets there are no heat panels in the upper body area thereby allowing the jacket to breathe as normal as it is expected that you will be sweating more when using this jacket. If they are cheap enough through this thread then I'll consider buying, otherwise just wear my heated gilet under something else when out.

All their clothing is made by Keela http://www.keela.co.uk/ so you are already buying a good outdoor piece of clothing.

I'll ask him about the stormwalker and ski gloves today and let you know.

please be aware the stormwalker is not designed to run off the bike but a battery pack.

cheers.

He is still awaiting a full price list but will get a price for the jacket.

He sauid the ski gloves were that crap that they sent them all back so it doesnt sound to good for them? He can have a look to see if there are any lying around but they dont sound to good to me.

They do the mitts but again, i'm waiting for a price list... might get some mitts myself :)

If the KEIS X4 heated vests are on EBay at £87-95 including a four position heat controller and free postage.
(The listing also allowed me to make an offer ~Ebay Item 220556955188)

This "Deal" doesn't seem cheap to me:(

Each to their own, im not making any profit from this i'm just trying to give fellow bikers a good deal. If the vest is 180 brand new and i can get it for 125 then to me thats a "Deal"

Buy one or don't... no skin off my nose :)

ok Harry, no bother.

You maybe best with Gerbing as i think there jacket liner is heated in the arms.
