I was in my local Motorrad dealer today trying on System 7 helmets (which by the way, I didn’t get on with due to chin strap choking issues) and they let slip that there is a new comms system in development which will fit on any helmet (and is way cheaper than the System 7 module).

Apparently they have been listening to all of the TFT/Comms frustrations and decided that they should do something about it.

Test kits arrive with certain selected dealers at the end of June, and maybe, just maybe, we can get all of this stuff to work without having to buy a System 7 helmet 😀

Given the present BMW system board and batteries fit in two slots between the foam and the helmet liner I do wonder if it impacts on the safety of the helmet as a whole.

Some controversy out there about the sharp system, and how some manufacturers choose to target the Sharp system whilst others, such as arai, argue that it compromises good safety design. Not saying that's the case, just putting it out there. That aside, full face is always going to be safer by degrees than a modular on a like for like basis.

I don’t know if it is or not, the description sounded like a whole new bit of kit, but I could be wrong.

Trouble is there one unit on each side....

On a serious note the battery is failing on mine so rather than spend £45+ for a replacement Im going for a better Sena 10C Pro which has radio and video

Agree C4 has the same type system the SC1, quite happy with it as no cables or microphones in the mouth, and really not a fan of something hanging off the helmet grabbing the wind.

I wouldn't mind but a similar battery pack [3 AAs in shrink] from China is less than a fiver but only has two leads as opposed to the BMW pack @£45+ which has three so must need 1.5 volts somewhere for whatever reason.

Nope wrong one for the headset I have it has three leads off the pack to the motherboard ( system six helmet)

Yea I put it back in now so bugger it, the new units on order and this one can go on flebay once its removed.
