personally i wouldnt touch it it looks like its been chopped around at the back end and doesnt look right infact it looks horrible ,in my opinion which is worth nothing i would hang on and look for a glide model for that price .
you can pick them up for that price look at the one toad just got a real minter for 6k nice and std and a bat wing fairing which makes touring riding nicer allthough i dont have a screen on mine .
evo lumps are great ive had a couple and there really good engines ,im just going to watch the last bit of masterchef ....back soon

Cheers buddy:thumb.between the dyna and the evo what's the difference?to be honest been a ex streetfighter builder the evo,s looks are my cup of tea, maybe a little too blingy but nothing a couple of tins of satin black won't sort out.the dyna does it use the same 1340 lump.cheers

The bike in the ad is a Softail, with a custom rear mudguard...plus loads of other mods.

EVO refers to the Evolution Engine 1340 built until 1999/2000 when it was replaced with the Twin Cam.

The EVO engine in Carb form is pretty bombproof mine has nearly 100,000 miles on it has good compression and burns no oil.... Weak
points are hardening rubbers in the fuel system, engine mounts and you need to keep the plugs and HT leads fresh.... All easy jobs.

Treat them with love when cold, as they take a while to warm up... Rag it from cold and you will blow the rear base gasket.... Just warm it up....

HD has three big twin frame types....

Dyna - Twin rear shock

Wide glide/street bob/Dyna glide etc

Softail - "twin" mono shock with shocks under the frame

Fat boy / heritage etc

Touring - twin rear shock

Electra glide/Roadking

Each bike has it's own character ...some say soft ails do not handle well....

If the bike has FI then it's quite an old system, if it fails... £800 is coming your way for an ECU.... Most people convert to carb if the FI fails......

Price wise ... Umm....£6.8k gets you a lot of choice....you can pretty much get any EVO you fancy...

I though would say that £6k is a better price for that...

One thing... A HD big twin V5 and Frame /reg are selling for £2.5k for projects..... The EVO engine £1.0 and £500 for a gearbox....so that's £4k for the major parts..... so, at £5-£6 k you can't go wrong...

The EVO engine is about as maint free as you can get... Single carb... Hydraulic lifters etc... Just change the oil .. ( engine/tranny/gearbox ) and plugs every 5,000 miles and it will last forever...

The engine is also 100% rebuildable.....

Thanks twizzle:thumb.looking around I think your right mate mate £6800+delivery brings it to over £7k:eek:.I have my eyes on another couple of beauty so I.ll let you know how I get on.to be honest i haven't even ridden one but I,ve always preferred twins to multi,s.I currently own a hayabusa, and a 98 r1100gs and much prefer riding my GS.must be old age creeping up on me

Was just about to ask the very same question concerning the 1450 twin cam motors, I guess I knew the answer having owned and loved a Buell a few years ago.

Got my eye on a nice standard Glide at the moment, mind you I have also found a lovely FXDXT too! Decisions, decisions, eh?
