potential problem with alternator

hiya all just got a recall for me 08 gsa they say there is a problem with the alternator which could caues the abs to fail
has anyone had the same recall ?

The alternator suppressor requires replacement on some bikes (mines an 08). Got a call from the dealer last Thursday (19th Nov) and am now booked in for the work. Told that it about a 40 minute job as tank off.

better get it done i had one go south and the abs was the least of my problem. also while it is in there was a recall on some of the 08 bikes for a front brake line from the union below the handlebar to the abs unit and the esa front shock also replaced.:

was in hursts on saturday was told bike had to go back for a suppressor as it could put abs light on{dont have abs}or a warning light on the dash.

Mine's is July 08..... just told it didn't qualify for the FPC recall.... but am interested in this.

I'm about 7 weeks away from a big Africa trip and am taking a bit of flack from others about the 1200 not being up to the job.

Fixed

Just had 30k service on my Apr '08 GSA and fixed the recall related to the alternator at the same time. The tank has to be removed, except for that it took about 3 min to add the fix. Sorry no pics

Yep got notification today March 08 bike going in on Dec 10th job about 1 hour

ok but i just put £35 in the tank
thats ok
45mins later all done suppressor fitted to alterator
great dearler sbw hertford
