Powder coat or stove enamelling

Looks very good. Can I ask where you had the stand done and was that the same process for all the bits?

All done @ Polytech Powdercoating Ltd, Wickford, Essex.

It’s my company, all steel parts the same process, the engine front wasn’t zinc primed, just filler primed and top coated.

Best regards

Liam

That’s what I was going to suggest, it’s a center stand

Hammerite is excellent even over rust

Indeed. 3 local companies to me (one of which claims to still be working) have all failed to return my contact so looks like Hammerite Black Smooth is looking favourite at least as an interim measure :101

Definitely an interim measure. I painted my centre stand with smooth Hammerite last year. I probably didn’t prep it well enough and even with two thick coats most of the paint has gone already. The lizard skin thing is a very good idea.

Over the center cross bar I use a rubber hose split length ways and cable tied in 4 places to stop it moving.
Black bitumen paint can be rust inhibiting whilst being flexible enough to stop it chipping.
Not high tech or pretty but easy to over coat unlike powder coating.

Hammerite is good although not as good as it used to be. However more thinner coats seems to work better than fewer thicker coats.
