Powder Coating

I just took my 1100s alloys to be beadblasted and was blasted by questions.
1.. what kind of alloy is it, is it magnesium based
2.. what kind of paint is on them already
3.. are you willing to risk your wheels buckling in the oven
etc etc
Does anyone know the answers to the first two questions and has anyone had modern bmw alloys beadblasted and powdercoated recently. Thank You.. Dennis

You might give these guys a call, ask for Dave Joynes, they blasted and coated a pair of cast alloys off a HD sportster for me recently. top blokes and a top job and they might be able to answer your questions.

Lind of Norwich have recently had bits of an R1100S powder coated in gold (heads & wheels) - fantastic job. Boxertricks bought it.
If you give them a ring (01603 620222, ask for Barry Lynes), I'm sure they'd put you in touch with the guys who did it for them. They also recently powder coated the headlamp grill on my bike & did a fantastic job (for only £15!). They certainly know their stuff & should be able to advise you accordingly.
