A couple of questions for those who have fitted a power commander to an R1200gs - specifically a 2008 canbus version.

1) are the Lambda sensors disconnected/removed?

2) does removal of the Lambda sensors cause a yellow warning triangle to be displayed on the instrument panel?

It might help to get a bit more information. Are you fitting a Power Commander to get the fuelling set up after fitting a full exhaust system with a catalyst? If so, are you having the PC mapped on the dyno?

If you're not replacing the exhaust headers, it raises the question about the value of fitting a Power Commander. Retaining the lambda sensors will largely override any changes to the fuelling which the PC attempts to make while the injection system is operating in closed-loop mode. At higher revs / larger throttle openings where the system switches out of closed loop, that would cease to be the case and you should then get the benefit of the map which is installed in the PC.

NB: PC = Power Commander for the purposes of this post.

I have disconnected the lambda sensors but have retained the existing headers, mainly as I got the PC3-USB cheap. I have the map loaded that best describes this combination (number 001 if I remember). It seems there is some confusion, as the other maps state "with O2 sensors disconnected". Keep meaning to tape up the un-used connectors, but always too cold, wet or dark (meaning - can't be arsed).

By the way, the PC does make the flat spot disappear, although it does make a small cameo appearance at about 6k now!

One day I'll treat myself to a proper exhaust system. ;-)

Thank you for that Mapster that's all I wanted to know.
