i just had my power commander installed and also had it mapped on a dyno,it feels great, you can notice a difference as soon as you ride,i just tidied every thing up as it comes with loose wiring-a bit tardy-these are the graphs(no graphs as i cant work out how to upload).de-cat with stock muffler and bmc airfilter.doing a trip next week will post.cant upload but its gone from 90.6 to 95.2 hp and torque from 74.2 to 75.9 ft/lbs.the bike wasnt running well before but now is,so im happy. only time will tell if it has been a good investment,it cost me $500 for the pc and another $500 for the dyno and mapping all up $1000 aus dls.it took about four hours to map both cylinders and seemed a straightforward practice.cheers from sydney australia.mark.

my gs is a 2005 model kb,im goin for a ride next week of about 2000ks so i will be able to comment properly then, but as soon as the power commander was installed i knew instantly my bike was running better, cant wait to give it a squirt,i will have to be carefull though as its school holidays here and that means double the fine and demerit points in australia.:aidan

Hi - I have a 2005 GS with stock airfilter and headers and a BOS slip on. I fitted a PCIII but have been underwhelmed by the effect so far, although I have only tried a couple of the maps for what seem to be closest to my set-up. Not yet found time to systematically run through all the maps. In the long run I will get the headers changed and have it dyno'd to maximise benefit, but I'm not in a position to do this just yet.

Anyway, diid you notice a significant improvement just from the PCIII, or did you change the headers and add the PCIII at the same time?

cheers
Darren

Replacing the headers (getting rid of Cat) will improve performance and you'll notice it! I replaced the filter for a blue one, cut out the Cat and inserted one of my Y pieces, Akra can and Power Controller and it is now soooo much better!

I have fitted to my new 12GSA a k&n,power snorkell, akro twin silencer race system(inc headers) and a Power Commander unit. We also fitted a PC Hub that connects to a handlebar switch and allows me to switch maps while driving. The PC unit now has two maps installed, a leaner, Economy/Touring map (102bhp / 80ft torque and a Sportier (107bhp / 85ft torque )map fitted. I like it. KB

darren, when i got my bike dyno'd(i watched the whole procedure)the operator was adding fuel here taking away fuel there so it was set up perfectly as it was standing,(by taking fuel away it negates any controller that only adds fuel)i got my bike set up the way i wanted it then had it dyno'd and thats the way it will stay,if i add anything now it would have to be redone,i like the bike standard(almost) and quiet but running properly and thats what the pc has done for me.if i were you i would de-cat,then have it dyno'd. i was hoping for the magic 100hp but will stay with my standard muffler.my thinking is that it wont win many races but its a bloody nice ride. cheers mark.:rob

dont change headers just de-cat them.$30-00

That's what they tell me too, that the oem pipes are very good so just cut the cat and stick to the original pipes, but $30?how?
i believe they are as well and the akropovic headers still retain the balance pipe, press search then type in removal of the cat,its about the 8th one down written by a very knowledgable mark71,go to page 4 of this thread and i believe you will be happy.the $30-00 was to get it welded up.let me know how you get on.:comfort

It's a great work and with almost zero cutting the headers but i dont think i am capable of doing this kind of work but a fellow mechanic will..Thanks a lot!!

Hey Mark who did the dyno work for you in Sydney?

Hi Mark

Just installed my PCIII USB, and installed and tried the maps from PC website, however none of the maps fit my setup, and dosent really do much for performance, other than spending my fuel 1/3 faster than normal. But you have the exact same setup as me, so i was wondering if you would share your costum map. to test on my 06 ADV.

Have booked sessions on a dyno next month, but would like to try a matching map as the PC ones dosent do anything positive for my bike. As others have said here, the big difference for me was the decat thing, that really did open up the mid range power feel.
