Does anyone know if you can get the power leads for the Garmin Zumo that Motorad Concepts did for the GS. I had seen it advertised but hadn't got one as I wasn't ready to get a GPS, typical really as I want one now!

If you're about on Sunday (morning?) and want to have a chat/look to see how I did it, then I'm going to have a look at TVAM's Open Day - just about on your doorstep. Perhaps you could tell wifey that 'I'm just nipping out for a pint of milk dear....' and vanish for an hour?

Not sure what I am up to Sunday morning yet, the TVAM open day says it starts at 13:00 though!! I could add to the post nearer to the time if it looks like I might be free. I am sure you could be of help to me though as I don't know anything about GPS or relevant leads to connect to my autocom. It all seems a bit confusing.
I have just fitted a Zumo 550. I had an old BMW lead for the BMW Navigator which plugged into a special plug in the wiring harness near the headstock. I cut the Nav end off the BMW lead and spliced it to the supplied 550 lead. The Zumo now plugs straight into the harness. The power comes on with the ignition and then switches off about 2-3 minutes after the bike is turned off. The BMW Navigator is a Garmin anyway and the colour coding on the leads matches, red to red and black to black. You can buy the Navigator lead from a dealer, I think it is about £25, expensive but neat solution.

Ignore what the TVAM stuff says - I can't get a pass for the afternoon so will be there at 9.30 - a friend is on the welcoming committee there and says they don't care when you turn up, just as long as you do....
