Hello all.
I'm new on this forum.
I have a big problem with my GS1200 (bought on March).
I had a perfect engine before 3000KM.
I had also 3 interventions for valves clearance (after 300 km they becomes very noisy).
After near 3000 on my GS the engine becom to be less and less strong.
At this moment i have somethink like 4500km on my bike and it seems to be weak as an 600cc enduro. (not more than 60-70HP).
I spoke with my bmw dealer mechanic, he do not know if the problem is realted to electronic sensor or compression on the cylinders.

I have still the problems with the valves clearances. It seems that the valves are common problem to the bigger part of GS1.2.
But I'm really affraid of that power loss.

What do you suggest me ?

Thank you in advance

Maybe a stupid idea but have you checked your oil level? If you are not used to boxers you may not know that they can drink oil when new. I imagine lack of oil would initially show up as power loss.

Take it back to the shop........... its brand new !!!
Wave youra arms about like a real Italian and demand ita be fixed ora ia wanta replacemanta

Thank you Paul, (actually It is my first boxer) but I checked the oil frequently because I was informed about that particular.

I read (in the users manual) that the engine oil should be 20W/50
I think that bmw here use oil that is more slim that 20W
something like 15W castrol GPS.
I do not belive that it could affect... but I'm quite ignorant in the matter of bmw.
??
Thanks for your answer Paul.

Den I'm bulgarian but live in Sardinia, so if I go to the shop with that request I will not be taken seriously as it would :))
