Power Socket?

Is it just a cigarette type connector that needs to be inserted?

Or some kind of B*W fancy expensive thingy?

Thinking of GPS power cable.

I've got a GSA and the navII, the supplied socket fits in a cigarette lighter for a car, if you pull a little red cap off it will fit in the BM power socket on the beak of the bike

The BM socket is smaller.

If the cable dosen't have the red bit on can you get an adaptor to convert from one to the other?

yes you can, a lot of people talk of it being an agricultural type plug, ie it fits a tractor!? I was looking into the same thing myself the other day, you might have to do a search.

John Deere (yep, the tractor people) sell these plugs & sockets (as do Hein Gericke, Maplins &, I'm told, most caravan shops).

I believe the John Deere part numbers are:

Male Plug RE11344
Female Socket MG82002966 or AL25073

Do a search for Accessory Plugs if you need more information...

It's a plug to DIN ISO 4165. That John Deere tractors use them is coincidental, so do BMW and Triumph motorcycles and loads of others.

This is the plug you want, available from here at £2.72 a pop.

You might want to try Powerlet Products. Sell all kinds of kits and made up power cords for pretty much everything. The BMW type connector is a speciality.

I've used them a couple of times and can definately recommend them.
