Hi All,

Just wanted to see if anyone else has had an issue with this product from Powerbronze.

At the NEC bike show I ordered a new hugger for my LC which was new in July 13. Hugger arrived after a few days and was fitted. After a few thousand miles in France I noticed whilst washing bike that the hugger had alarge split across the top mounting screw in the plastic.

Called Powerbronze and they quickly sent out a replacement, which lasted from a while but split again in the same place. I took the bike down to Littlehampton to show the company the problem.
They took some photos and thanked me for showing it to them and replaced the part.

Third hugger only lasted a couple of weeks before it too started to fail in the same place.

Now I must say that Richard at Powerbronze has been brillant and the company have not once been difficult about things. I was just interested to see if anyone else has had the problem or if someone can recommend an alternative which doesn't cost a couple of hundred pounds.

Powerbronze hugger... another replacement

Chris... My second replacement Powerbronze hugger has also split across the bolt holes securing the unit to the metal bracket. There still appears to be a lot of flex in the plastic which I think contributed to its failure and again needs to be readdressed in the manufacture. The carbon look is only a cosmetic screen print over the standard black plastic. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Powerbronze to provide feedback on how best to sort this faulty unit. Like you I don't want to go through this for the umpteenth time and a tad miffed at paying for their R&D. Teach me for purchasing a cheap unit in the first place.:blast

I had 3 powerbronze huggers on my old GSA and all split, i gave up in the end and ordered a mudsling

Powerbronze's third reincarnation of their hugger...

Powerbronze have just stent me a third reincarnation of their hugger which now has a supporting bracket that runs across the underside of the unit further reducing its flex. Only time will tell if the splitting problem has been cured. The only consolation is they have replaced my previous replacement which was over a year old, out of warranty and for free. Credit to them but to what cost?
