hello, I am just after a bit of advise from PR4gt tyre users, on a ride last night I hit a pot hole at about 40mph, the font tyre seal let go pushing out the ultraseal tyre weld onto the fork leg and deflating the tyre, the tyres have been fitted for around 200 miles. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else, I must note that I have a low chassis model 2013 r1200rt and the front suspension has a quite a small movement compared to a standard bike. Also if anyone has ideas on tyre pressures for the gt's I would love to know. I normally ride solo but will be going 2 up to Spain in June.

thanks in advance

Tim

Hello Tim
I have pr4's on my k1600, I don't run ultra seal in them and I normally run mine at 2.8 bar front and back, the pressures are very changeable depending on temperature fluctuations, as in can go up and down according to the tyre pressure dashboard thing, I never change the pressures irrespective of single or dual riding I just leave em, good tyres though , good in the wet, and well wearing

Haven't you got tpms? If so didn't think you were supposed to use Ultraseal as it can wreck the sensors!

hi guys, just had a closer look and pumped up tyre to 60 psi, POP and there is a nail hole in the centre of the tyre, guess the pot hole just knocked out the ultaseal from the hole. will get it repaired properly after bank holiday.
thanks again

Have you checked your front wheel rim for damage?
Just to be on the safe side.

all ok now

dick Lovett Bristol managed to repair the puncture, always great service from them.

As regards tyre pressures, I find 2.5bar on the front and 2.9 bar on the back in my PR4s makes things nice and consistent. I never pump them up for pillions etc.

Puggy
