Pre 2008 GSA vs GSA 2008 (Facelift)???

I bought a 2008 GSA and it has all the options

It seems a good bike, has plenty of power and stops well

Longterm I find it functional but not very involving, It's a bit bland and very similar to the other BMW tourers, like an RT

It's a keeper .....

Went from a 56 GSA (20k miles) to an 08 GSA (Now 12k Miles), My impressions are:

  • Gear box slicker and lower first gear option is great
  • Extra 5 BHP is hardly noticeable in real life riding
  • Fuel economy for some reason seems beter ( I average 52 vs 48 mpg previously)
  • ESA is a REAL bonus, it means that you have access to the right suspension setup according to the terrain or your load - I recently toured UK on/off-raod and the ease at how you can dial in various settings made it a breeze
  • There are numerous other little detailed changes that are nice but you can easily live without

I guess it is simply down to - if you want to change, you are changing to a more evolved, better featured bike, not a substantially different one. I for one have not one regret about making the change - The changes have simply made a great bike greater!

So several like the '08 over previous models.
My only question is....Do you still have the "over 4000 RPM VIBRATIONS" ????
