Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has a cover made by Prestige Motorcycle Covers?. My Adventure has to live outside and my old cover is too small. Prestige sort of custom fit the cover depending on whether you want to cover panniers etc. looks pretty good but just interested to know if anyone has any first hand knowledge......cheers.:bounce1

Never heard of prestige, but I recall seeing a proper BMW cover on the Max BMW microfiche years ago, they do a part number for one with luggage fitted and one without IIRC.

Edit: Just took a look and they do a 'Tarpaulin' for the 04-07 bikes, it looks a bit shit TBH.

Nothing is worse than a wet bike festering away under a waterproof cover. I'm not convinced even breathable will shift moisture "that" fast leading to it festering away.

I used a "water resistant" cover. It cost very little and the bike got wet in very heavy rain but in normal weather it kept dry. Importantly, it dried fast when the rain stopped ant is wasn't stiff against paint.

I have a Prestige. Bought for my RT whilst I was building a permanent house for her.

On the plus side they are well made and the material is very durable, a sort of cross between poly and canvas. You can use the base straps to tie it on quite tight too meaning it'll stay in place in high winds.

The downsides I found;
- despite the fact that you select your bike when choosing what you get is a generic shaped and size cover for your 'type' of bike. So not a perfect fit or shape.
- a downside of the tough material is that water tends to pool on the top.
- as the previous poster says, the cover seems to create a microclimate of it's own underneath. Even after a spell of dry weather I'd take the cover off to find the while bike slightly damp. The problem is that it's too weatherproof so there's no air circulating under there

A cheap nylon cover will do the job. Put a wood batten between screen and carrier to avoid water pooling and tie it down under the bike.

Iv had two oxford breathable covers both good quality nylon woven material,still kept one just in case (garage bikes now) had several grey plasticky ones good but eventually breakup from uv abuse.
Canvas ok but went mouldy started to fall apart so binned it after a year.

Total enclosure system , Expensive but good.

I've got a Wunderlich cover which fits well with the top box on. Not tried it with the side cases on yet.

Not sure how it will be when the really crappy weather sets in but pleased with it so far.

+1 for Wunderlich. Keep two bikes outside under them. Covers last several years and both completely cover my R1200gs adv and Julie's F650gs. Both have top boxes on. Would or should be big enough to leave boxes on to. Last one was £60 . Has worked well for us. Try to dry bike before covering. :thumby:
