Are they still trading. Only last time I was in there back in February to have my bike serviced they said they would cease trading as Prestige at the end of March 2006.

Hello fish and welcome to the forum :beerjug:

Try using the search function at the top of the page for Prestige, you should learn all you want and more :thumb

Prestige no longer.

Unfortunately Prestige finally closed down back in May.

If you are wanting to get your bike serviced though, Steve Franklyn, who used to be the service manager is/has set himself up to work on bikes from near him house in Southend. Steve can be contacted on 07711 364 930.

Slight correction: They are still open but there's not a lot there... Last few remnants of clothing and a few bikes...

Very depressing :(

They are also offering to service pre 2003 bikes.

I guess they don't have the BMW diagnostic equipment for the newer models.

I spoke to Steve Franklyn, the former service manager, the other day. All the latest diagnostics equipment had to go back to Bracknell, Stuart at Prestige is still trying to off load the few remaining bikes he has, and Keith the tech is is therefore able to service pre 2003 bikes.

According to Steve, BMW are still trying to locate a suitable premises to take over the old Prestige catchment area as well as the dealership further down to Kent.

If they do find another dealer in the Bexleyheath/Dartford area it's not going to be earlier than the end of the year before it opens for business though.

I'm not surprised Prestige lost their franchise. Before I bought a bike from North Oxford (brilliant service) I travelled down to Bexleyheath from Worcester to see a GS which I had paid £200 to reserve after seeing it on the website. I made sure they had a good look around it to save me a wasted journey. When I arrived however, the bike had damage that they hadn't told me about and was covered in shite after being taken for a February test ride by someone after I had reserved it.

They didn't have there franchise taken away, Stuart the owner has retired, but failed to do a deal with BMW for them to buy it from him
