Figured this out last night. Go to Google maps and click on a address. Click on more>send>gps - if your Zumo is hooked up to the computer it will download it directly to the device. Road Trip for the Mac doesn't have the ability to search postal codes. Quick workaround.

Surely won't be long before they do this with routes as well, after all conversion to a GPX (for Garmin), or ITN (for TomTom), file format is pretty straight forward from a list of sequential long/lat coordinates.

So we can route planning on GoogleMaps rather than hideous Garmin software.:hogroast

Well, yes. But Mapsource is far more capable than Google Maps ever will be as a planning tool and also uses the exact same mapping that you have on your GPS.

Mapsource was frustrating for the first few weeks until I got to grips with it's foibles. More recent versions are slightly better but I admit it could do with a serious UI makeover. Once you get to know it though, IMHO, it takes some beating. That's unless you're on a Mac...

I've been using it for years and I still hate it. Part of it is that, yes I am on a Mac, so the interface seems almost wilfully awkward.

On the other hand RoadTrip and BaseCamp run so slowly on my mac (I know that other people don't have this problem) that they are unusable.

Mapsource and CoD MW are the only reasons I have Windows on my computer.

On the other hand every time I use MapSource I get a renewed appreciation for Mac OS X:thumb

I find that Road Trip is slow on my Mac but I think the best way is to use google to add the points and then Road Trip to map routes.
