Johnny, good for you and the others helping, you always are one for getting stuck in to help.

Hope your well.

Good effort. Our blood bike group covered over 1600 miles in the last 4 days during the day, that isn't including our nighttime commitments. On Thursday we had 11 riders and drivers on duty during the day. Busier than ever, but everyone is happy to help. One plus, I did Southampton to Bristol yesterday return, roads were empty. Going through Bathampton by the canal, there were loads of people sat by the canal with cool boxes, having picnics.

When did they start making the signs mainly Gaelic ? They used to be underneath in brackets, now even the locals won't understand them.

I knew a couple who lived not very far from that sign.....English was second language to them, they only spoke Gaelic to each other. HRH will know of their son...John Farqhuar Munro. All long dead now. Many good memories.

He had a Mercedes 190e which I worked on many a time, it went round the clock and the deal with Mercedes if it did he could get a brand new one foc
He decided to get it restored instead. Mercedes footed the bill.

A week after it was restored wrote if off at Cluanie.

P.S. there are two signs I missed out the englified one

At the risk of hi jacking your thread, JF was born a bit west of your sign at Cluanie Lodge. You'll have been past it a million times. Just west of the lodge, and in front of it was the stalkers house....its still there on the side of the loch. JF's parents Jean and Duncan Stoddart lived there for many years..Duncan worked all his days for the estate owner, Lord Burton. JF was born slightly before Jean and Duncan got married and as was the custom then, JF was given Jeans maiden name...Munro
I knew them a long while ago and had many a dram in their house at Cluanie
Jean was a ferocious knitter.....one time I took her some wool on a Sunday and on Thursday she gave me 3 pairs of shooting stockings and a pair of short socks.
I used to ghillie at Cluanie for the stags, and helped the estate stalker who took over from Duncan...Colin Campbell .. at fox dens in May. I reckon I could take you to every den in Glen Shiel! As well as most in Ardentoul and Arnisdale!
Happy days....all dead now....although Colins nephew Ruaridh is still at Cluanie

Look out for the deer on the road! Had a couple of close encounters with deer on the road round there! Stay safe. Thank you for volunteering (and having a great time doing it!) A couple of my mates are Blood Bikers in Scotland, also doing their "bit" and having fun at the same time. Keep up the good work Sir...
