There seems to be some confusion. This thread is about these......:nenau

Why do I get a little window at the foot of this pic with ebay price comparisons etc. Even saw this at the foot of a pic on the BBC web site and they don't carry ads? You can 'x' to close the window

EDIT. the pop look like this, it was at the foot of the pic above in another thread but does not appear when I 'quote' the original

Another example on the BBC website. The ads are often related to the image but not always. Why the pop up appears on a random image of the S1000R I have no idea

Looks like some form of malware to me. I presume it infers the image contents from the (image) file name to then offer similar thumbnails in the pop-up.

I agree with Clive, advertising malware. What browser are you using? Firefox has a range of "add-ons" that you optionally install, foc, to stop pop-ups and various other problems. It might be a good idea to make sure your internet security is up to par.

yep, I need to do a scan, I have malwarebytes etc. Here is another example fron our very own for sale section. I am using Firefox BTW so will check what add ins are being applied. It is clever software though, able to analyse the image and display 'applicable' shopping suggestions

What is that "Search Here" box at the top middle of Firefox? Have you inadvertently installed a 3rd party search tool that is "helpfully" offering the pop-ups also?

It looks like a version of or somthing like Price Peep.

After running a malwarebytes scan and a virus scan (just to be sure) the pop ups seem to have stopped. Malwarebytes did find a number of suspicious files which were deleted. Early days though, thanks for the advice/comments :thumb

I think that has always been there. I just use the google search on the tool bar.
