Price difference between replacement stock BMW exhaust and Akrapovic

Had a mini spill on Thursday morning enroute to work

Car took a lump out of my rocker cover and scratched the exhaust, no damage to me or anyone else, the other driver has admitted full liability, so now to get the bike sorted.

After the inspection from the BMW dealer, it looks like a new silencer will be needed, getting a full quote next week for all the bits and bobs.

I was thinking of asking them to install an Akrapovic for BMW replacement instead of the original and matching the difference in price, but I can't seem to find the prices in the UK/Ireland for either the stock or the Akrapovic for BMW, although from a US site I found it's only $100 in the difference.

Anyone know what each of these run in the UK/Ireland?

You can pick stock silencers up on ebay cheap as chips. Go for the Akra.

Someone told me the Akro is actually CHEAPER than the stock BMW one if you need to buy a replacement.

That standard silencer that sold on ebay today,i bought it.I thought if i could get it cheap enough i could play about with the internals,and get it sounding a bit fruitier.I think the seller is Cannon bmw,so i reckon it could be a warranty claim item.

i recently bought BMW akrapovic end can, if you talk very nice to a dealer,,,
with a good discount shud be able to pick it up for around £450.00
priced from akrapovic agent at time was more expensive at least with BMW one any problems replaced straight away,

Talked to the dealer, replacement for stock is 730 euro (plus labour), akrapovic is 800 (including labour).

So it will actually be cheaper for the akrapovic one, the cage driver is paying for the lot anyway, so at least I get a nicer exhaust out of it
