For any of you attending Princetown and using Bike to Bike comms I thought we might agree on a channel and frequency before we get there. Most PMR 446 systems will work with each other, however, many have different ( QT ) Quiet Talk filtering facility which enables you to filter out users on the same channel who are not in our group.
If we use 446.00625mhz as the channel this may be different channels on different makes but just happens to be channel 1 on my Kenwood TK3101 and set QT to 94.8hz this should allow all attending Princetown to talk to each other. If like myself and Judge you will need to look at the manual to see how your system is configured. Works brilliant if you are in a large rideout group.

I hope to be down in Princetown in time for a Saturday morning rideout and I'll be on a Kenwood Channel 1 (446.00625 MHz/QT10 @ 94.8 Hz).

I think that this channel will work with most 446 transceivers if they too are set on Channel 1.

Talk Talk

Hi Greg, hope to talk to you down there, also got my Ultimate Ear, earplugs from Dave Marshall. Needed to make up an extension cord for the boom mike but the whole setup works perfect. I can actually hear my MD now and run the GPS on level 3. Never mind this bluetooth rubbish you need the speakers built into your earplugs you get best of both worlds then. Mike O advised me not to go down the throatmike route as the RAF heli pilots had reverted to boom mikes so I decided to stick with the original boom. Works perfect.

I've got them - and they have transformed my aural pleasure on the move!

The only reason I'm looking at bluetooth is so that my mobile phone can stay in my dry pocket, not get wet velcroed to the tank. The bluetooth would connect the phone to the Autocom - not to my ear.
