So...... (Wasnt that another thread today???)

My girlfriend buys a train ticket using her ipad..... Ticket visible on ipad.... Same login, same website, same ticket not visible on mac, windows laptop, nowhere.....

No option to save it, means i cant save as pdf as i did before..... Options only print.... No air printers installed

What options do i have, except telling the train company to fook themselves and demand a refund even though it says not an option

Is for her mum, cant ask her to sit there with an ipad

Any ideas...... So annoyed

Train company not fooking available.....

Please help......

Take a screen shot, save screens shot in the cloud somewhere (Dropbox, drive, box, anywhere you have) and print on something that can get online and has a printer.

Yeah sure but that screen shot / photo is not the full ticket, is just what the internet explorer shows..... Strangely 2 tickets, one has save option that i can convert, one doesnt, only option being print which i cant....

How about...
1. Install 'web to pdf' app on ipad - plenty on app store
2. Convert web ticket to pdf
3. Email or message pdf file to device with printer

When I've had similar problems on windows kit I've used a program called PDF995 which mimics a printer but outputs to pdf file instead of paper but I don't think its available on Apple devices...still, the above should get you to the same place.

HTH

Print to PDF.................................... Oh, that would be a wonder-fucking-ful Mac device................. :comfort :D

Seriously, can you not forward it somewhere or use the detail to log on to the website somewhere useful

Tried forwarding - empty screen, either to mac or windows.... As i said, two tickets, one with save option, this works as pdf, otger doesnt, so no chance to convert... Can try that pdf app though...,

If it was that easy i wouldnt be here..... Logging in using same details on mac or windows doesnt show the ticket bought on the ipad - guessing supplier error but doesnt help me now.... Never seen anything like it, foooking technology

My Epson printer has an app for iOS with a Web Page Print option (no need to use Airprint). Perhaps there is one for yours?

Take a photograph of the ticket on the screen with your camera ... and print it off

Bit naive to even try and get an e-ticket on a mobile device, unless there's a company app (like the BA one) to store a boarding card. Get it onscreen and grab the image by pushing home and power simultaneously then forward or open the image in the camera roll on a machine also using iCloud that can print.

Used a photo of my Ryanair boarding pass on my iPhone three days ago - worked just fine leaving Cyprus. It took their handscanner a couple of passes to register properly but otherwise no probs

Isnt naive to think that if you are a customer of this railway with a login then you should be able to see all tickets bought against your account whether from ipad or laptop - that is simply what i find so annoying.......

Do you not automatically get email confirmation with ticket detail to a related email account. ???

Our daughter's solicitor emailed house sale paperwork yesterday, included were land registry paperwork and contracts that needed printing, signing and returning to the Sol's office by 3pm. Various types of files were used for the 7 attachments.
Mac and iPad didn't want to know, when eventually she got it in to print it missed 70% of the info. Emailed to her mum who converted it so Mac could handle it.

Apple = Useless Fashion accessory

or...

Solicitor = Computer illiterate numpty that sent files through for printing in a random assortment of proprietary file formats...

Never found a conveyancing solicitor who is very concerned about issues for their clients. The files work on their system, when they send them it's your problem if you want things sorted promptly.
Daughter had already queried the Mac file issue with the solicitors PA and emailed the solicitor two weeks ago, just got told that the PA just sends it, receiving issues are not their problem.

Fingers crossed they pay closer attention to detail when it comes to the conveyancing!

Never had any issues with my mac(s) - this really is the train companies issue with systems.... Have sorted it (we hope)

My solicitor regularly sends me files rather than snail mail letters. All have worked fine on my crappy MacBook fashion accessory

I use PDFwriter on the Mac with no problems though most applications have an export to PDF option.

PDF printer is available for the iPad. It takes screens (not just the visible bit) and converts to a PDF file.

Also I found this in a few seconds with Google. Oh dear that's not Apple what will I do. To be fair this really should be part of the iPad or at least the How To with Safari should be more clearly visible.

Maybe Im getting to be a fanboy, but the Mac has just done the job with next to no hassle when every Windoze machine Ive had has slowed to a crawl in spit of cleaning software and careful admin. Not to mention the regular crashes and tantrums these machines deliver.

I would prefer to use Linux like Ubuntu but Im not geeky enough and it that does still need some work. Yes I know the Mac is (sort of) Linux underneath. Its certainly got the reliability and built in security of Linux.

Normally have no problem in converting to pdf - you are all missing the point..... Was just crap system from the train company..... Was the one off i still have not been able to solve in getting converted to a pdf.....
