We all know that there can be "issues" with the final drive on the GS shafties, but do these "issues" extend to the R, RS and RT bikes too?

I'm asking just out of curiosity if the drive shaft and bearing issues appear on the 1100/1150/1200 non-GS bikes and there is such a wide range of knowledge and experience here that someone somewhere should be able to answer with some authority.

Apologies for asking in this forum, but there really doesn't appear anywhere else to field this question.
 
Just type in final drive failure in Google, problems extend across all models by the look of it, wish I hadn't bothered though, quite depressing :(

That is depressing, I was wondering if it was worse in the GS because of the greater range of movement.............. Apparently not :(
 
The new Honda VFR FD looks the bisiness, thats how to build a motorcycle final drive. A work of art.
