Have an issue with my Nav 11 whilst trying to load maps. Just updated to V8 and when I`m trying to load the maps to the unit, my computor cannot find the drivers to load. I`ve updated everything from Garmin and still no joy.

The message I get says the following:

Set the Interface option on your GPS to Garmin or Host

That`s all very nice but can`t find that anywhere on the unit!

Anyone have any idea`s because I`m lost with this?

Hey Sgt.Bilco.

Hope I can help you on this one.

I have heard that you Nav 11 is similiar to Streetpilot 111.
I have one of these, so I checked on my device.

On mine if I press them menu button TWICE (or once then again,)

The list I get is
GPS INFO.
Mapsource Info.
System Info.
Sytem Setup.

Cursor down to System Setup.

Across the top line I get General, Guidence, Routing, Time,Safety,Track Log,Language, INTERFACE.

Highlight the line there and press enter,,,,

There's a whole load of options there too numerous there to mention.

Mine is already set to GARMIN so I haven't touched it.

HTH.

If that lot helps you I wrote it.
If not ,,,then it was someone else.

Many thanks for checking.

It`s slightly diffent on the Nav11 but I have all the all the options apart from the important one....INTERFACE!!

Looked in every possible place and can`t find it anywhere. I`m wondering whether is it`s built in.

Sgt Bilco.

Have you tried cursoring along the top line.

On mine the screen is a "little small" to show all the options listed starting with

I have tried to represent what I see on my screen there.^^^

I have to scroll along before listings move to view.

Does that make sense.?

I'm fairly certain that Nav II and Nav II Plus don't have the interface option.

(I don't have mine to hand to check unfortunately).

Is the problem that your PC cannot 'see' the Nav II to send the map-set to? Is it finding the unit in the dialogue box that opens when you use the 'upload to unit' function?

Mike, spot on. The pc can`t find the unit so the dialogue box is empty and when I click find, the message comes up to find the interface on the unit.

I`m certain the Nav 11 hasn`t got the interface facility.

Pat, my menu bar stops at language so Interface isn`t there.

Just a point here, does the unit have to be able to receive satelite signals?

I can`t get a signal in my house so it`s off line.

I think I know what has happened.

Did you 'uninstall' the old version?

Sgt Bilco.

Okay, I guess it's not as I thought.
Perhaps a different model.

Best of luck.

I`m going to re install the settings using the original CD`s because I think I may have un installed them like Mike suggests.

It`s great when it works:thumb
