Problem sending email on mobile phone

I've just set up an email account on a Sony Ericsson w580i on Vodafone PAYT.
I copied the settings from Outlook Express and can receive email on the phone but can't send.Any suggestions please?

Try this site , i had the same trouble . if you still have problems try vodaphones own site on the fourem bit

Thanks Rawly,it turned out to be a problem with my ISP - I've set up a Google mail account and all is well now.

Some Mail providers wont let you send from a Mobile device, usually the POP3 providers.

I think that's the problem - thinking about it, I can't send email from the laptop either unless I'm connected via my own router.

I see you have a workaround using Gmail.

The problem would be that your ISP won't allow you to connect to their outgoign mail server from Vodafone.

If you want to revert back to the other email address then alter the outgoing (SMTP) setting on the phone to send.vodafone.net
