When I closed my computer down on Friday my Outlook was happily using Word as the mail editor.

So, back in the office after the weekend, I restart Outlook and when I try to start a new mail I get this message:

"The form requires Word as your email editor but Word is either busy or cannot be found. An OLE registration error ocurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program"

I have made no changes so why has this suddenly happened? More importantly what Setup program do I need to run to resolve this? :nenau As usual the error msg is less than helpful!

Re-install Office

Lord Snooty,

I had the same problem and after quite a bit of dicking around had to re-install office. Don't forget to backup your .pst file.

I am sure someone with more knowledge might be able to fix it and I will keep an eye on this thread to see.

Open up 'Word', then look under 'help' and you'll see a 'detect and repair' option....you may well need the original install discs but it should do exactly that....detect problems and fx them, rather than you having to re-instal the whole thing :)

I tried that Bill and it asked for an XP Professional Office with Frontpage CD to be inserted which I didn't have at the time. I have done a System Restore back to Friday and it all seems ok now. :thumb
