Problem with bmw battery charger

Got a problem with my bmw charger.After going out for a ride today I plugged it back in only for it to come up ERROR.Unplugged both the mains plug and the hella plug and plugged then back in after a few seconds-same outcome.Left both plugs plugged in and turned ignition lights on with the key and charger works fine.Took the key out and after a few minutes the ERROR light is on again???Can anyone help-its driving me mad!!!!!!

Had endless problems with mine. Changed it for a Datatool - perfect ever since.

1200GS charging

We are talking about the 1200GS? Why bother with a special expensive BMW charger? Take the seat off and you can easily connect direct to your battery terminals from your optimate or whatever you have. My bike has been off the road (snow, snow, snow) for over a week but the charger switched off in less than an hour so I reckon it could be unused for a few weeks without problems. Also you will (after a year or so) perfect the technique for replacing the saddle, if you are lucky..
