Hi,

Just got a garmin 276C. I thought it was great.

Today I turned it off, and then went to turn it back on 15 minutes later and it would not turn on. It's dead. I put the charger on, nothing happened. Checked the battery and so-on.

Well it worked okay for 4 days.

Anybody have any ideas before I take it back.

Thanks

Classic dead battery syndrome, Its a Lithium Ion with a processor chip in it and it will need replacing, just got a 512 Mb data chip for mine from a gent in the USA for $134 US on Ebay it came from the US to me in 4 days.

Well, I tryed re-seating the battery one more time and now the units works.

I hope that that is the end of the problem, but now I have lost faith in the unit. :(

When it was working, I thought it was really cool.

I also got a Ram Mount for my bike, which is a nice piece of kit. :thumb

Well, I had a little play with my 276c and couldn’t find a way to fit the battery incorrectly, its ether locked in place or its not. So that makes me think there maybe a problem with the 3 battery tabs in the GPS not pushing on to the battery terminal fully, or a faulty battery. I would try it for a while and if there are any more problems send it back for replacement. It is normally an excellent GPS.

Thanks ebbo,

That's what I will do. I really do like the unit.
