hi guys,

got a problem with my time-clock on the GS.

everytime i turn the ignition on, it resets itself back to 0:00. bit annoying when i wanna check the time during a ride, and it says something stupid like 01:48 when its blatantly around 15:13!!!!

any ideas what the flock is wrong with it???

Sounds like the fuse has blown. Check the fuse.I had this problem and realised the fuse was blown and also that the previous owner had put the wrong fuse in. No problems since I replaced it with the correct one. The fuse box is under the seat. Fuse three, diagram is here .

I had a similar problem, but not on switching the ignition on, but on starting the bike. Another thread somehere here suggested it would be the battery (4 years old now). So it proved to be. Mind you the battery involved an £80 fix - a fuse would be a lot cheaper! Best of luck, Norman

If the clock is OK when turning on the ignition and resets when starting, the battery is at the end of it's life.

Try hooking it up to an Optimate for a day or two. This can bring back some life in the battery. Worked on mine last winter, but will probably have to replace it this winter (is 5 years old now).
