Hmm. Mrs Berin has a Triumph 900 GT Pro with Tourance Next fitted. The bikes about 2 months old with 4000 odd miles. I think it’s a 150/18, but she has t received a recall notice.
@Stevie4scoops thanks for sharing - like others said, lets hope its only OEM fitments to Triumph, worth others checking. Perhaps mod (@Paul G (BHT) could pin it or post a sub post titled "Check your Pirelli Metzler tyres".
Note: this is based on a US recall:

What it does not say is where these tyres were made. Bear in mind, the affected tyres were fitted in the factory in Thailand so probably made in Asia. They may not be made in the same factory as tyres fitted in European factories or sold in European shops.
they stopped making bikes in the UK in 2020, so my point remains - his 1200 when new would have probably had Asian made tyresThe text I posted was from an email sent to a friend who bought a new 1200 Explorer around 18 months ago.
Could well be. It’s not showing any problems, and maybe it’s either the same tyre but with less weight/power it’s ok, or maybe a different spec.maybe the extra 43kg or 40bhp is significant? Perhaps Triumph underspecced the tyre on the 1200?
My Rally Pro has a 17” rear wheel. It might be worth checking your wife’s tyre sizes as I believe the GT pro is the same size albeit with cast rims instead of spokes.Hmm. It also affects some Suzuki V-Strom models with the same tyre size apparentlyAnyone who thinks this recall will be restricted to tyres fitted to just Triumph motorcycles needs to give their head a wobble![]()
It does have 17" rims, and no recall notice yet so I reckon we're OKMy Rally Pro has a 17” rear wheel. It might be worth checking your wife’s tyre sizes as I believe the GT pro is the same size albeit with cast rims instead of spokes.
Re reading the recall notice it appears to only be affecting 18” tyres.
Why is it only Triumph motorcycles? Anyone know?Anyone who thinks this recall will be restricted to tyres fitted to just Triumph motorcycles needs to give their head a wobble![]()
