Hi,
I've seemed to have downloaded a virus/malware or something that keeps popping up a notification every 20 seconds or so.
It is from a company I believe to be ruopor.co.in
Windows defender doesnt recognise it and I cannot find it in apps to delete.
It is very annoying and not sure how to get rid of it.
I'll post a picture of it as a separate reply.

It could be a web browser based pop up.

What web browser are you using?

Super antispyware is also free to download and would probably get rid of it. If not download Avast free antivirus and run that. As LS says above, Malwarebytes is a good program also

Malwarebytes are aware of this and give a walk through on how to reset your browsers and then use their tool to remove the infection

Apparently this malware can get into Windows, Android and apple devices if one clicks on a fake link in an advert on Facebook etc.

Make sure you download Malwarebytes from the official site not a referral link from the tips website.

Thanks for the advice. I get very suspicious about downloading anything in case it’s fake and causes more problems. A lot of anti viral programs that advertise “free” will scan the computer and then ask for card details to rectify any problems, or give a free trial when card details are entered and if not cancelled after the free time will start charging.

hence why I said to make sure you are using the actual website for a download.

I could post a link here but it would just be another link on a forum to be nervous about....
