I bought a full Stainless kit, from Neil, late last year for the new ADV (1150) and since 1st March, when she arrived home, I've been fitting the bolts, nuts and washers as and when I got a spare hour or two.

There seems to be a problem, though, as everytime I leave off and then come back to it the next time the bloody things have regenerated in the bags on me workbench!!

I'm just not getting down the packets Neil! There are so many bolts etc. still left that I'm sure they are breeding in between me being in the garage!

It really is the best value £36 I think I've spent in along time and the more I read the instructions the more I'm sure I'll never get to have a bench full of empty placky bags labeled A - N

Sherps ;)

You fit them? Where did it say that in the thread?!?

I thiought you just had them sitting in a box so that when you sold the bike you could say "Oh yeah, here's a full set of stainless nuts and bolts that I never got round to putting on the bike..."

Damn, that's going to fill up a weekend or two.

Bastards the lot of you. Your teasing me on purpose. :P

I've got the kit but still no feckin bike to put them on

"It will be ready by Wednesday my friend" didn't say which Wednesday though :spitfire probably one in frickin June

i've put mine in a bucket of water for six months... i don't wanna put on defective parts so i'm testing them first ;)

I've got as far as the changing the ones that hold the grap rail in place (they look nice and shiny)
The rest make me nervous, but I've just bought the manual on CD so I've got torque settings now.
The last hurdle is having the confidence to swap the torx bolts for hex ones. (is this a problem I ask myself - are torx bolts used because they will corrode? why don't they put stainless on in the first place? - bi-metal corrosion? etc.)
I almost gave them to the dealer at the last service and asked them to put on wherever they took off (then I told myself I should be a man and face up to this kind of stuff).
