OK, I am doing a four day ride around the Scottish Highlands in a few weeks time and my current map set only extends as far North as Carlisle.
So last night I set about loading all of Scotland on my 128mb card and removing a lot of the Southern maps in order to get all the data required on the card.
Selected the required maps using the Selection Tool and clicked on Send to Device, the data card had already been fitted in the USB Card Programmer and no other devices are plugged in to any USB ports.
The pop-up screen appears and the correct and the correct device has been automatically selected, so click send to.
It then starts its routine of collecting the map set, a total of 32 maps, the pecentage bar slowly progresses across to 100%.
Then it starts building the map set up, again the percentage bar slowly progressing across the 100%.
So far so good, and it has taken about 15 minutes......then it sets about deleting the old map set, the percentage bar starts then gets to 10% and stops. It then hangs there?
I left it 20 minutes and it was still hung and refused to move, although the timer was still counting upwards??
Aborted and tried again, all went ok until the last process of deleting the old map set, same again, got to 10% then froze.
Tried it a third time and it then went to 50% and froze?
Gave up, closed down PC and went to bed!!
I tried it again first thing this morning, this time I thought that I had cracked it as the bugger decided to tease me. All loading ok, then when it came to the deleting part, it went to 92%...... then froze.......doh!
Then I had an idea, erase the data on the card first using the Tools menu, clicked on erase and it then flashed 'mapset deleted' in a split second??
So any thoughts as to why it is freezing when it gets to the last part of the process when loading a new map set, more importantly what can I do next??
Thanks
BTBR
