Hi had my GS for a year now , done 6400 miles (due for service) it was regd july 2014 and had 400 miles on clock when purchased from Chester Bmw last october.
I have had no trouble with mine (says he with crossed fingers touching wood) and interested in hearing from others wether they have faults or not .
Many posts with faults but interested how many respond without faults , let me know :thumb

The trouble with forums is that you mainly hear the tales of woe. And when you post that you haven't had any issues, people don't believe you.

10500 miles since March 2014. New clutch pack fitted about a year ago which sorted out a graunch in the gear change. Anything else has been recalls, new rh switchgear from memory, oh nearly forgot also had a replacement screen due to cracks arounds the mounts.

Also front wheel replaced as the casting was poor quality, which tbf you had too peer inside the wheel to notice.

Only done 800 on my 15 bike and new water pump but it took an empty coolant tank and four visits to convince them.

22,000 miles, May 2013 bike in the faster red colour ;)
Remus headers, Akra Can, Hilltop remap, Wilbers suspension and no problems other than a new clutch replaced under warranty.
It's been one of the nicest bikes I've owned and is equally at home scratching around the twisties, or touring with full camping gear or even doing a bit of gentle off roading :thumb2

Oct 2013 LC GS, no faults to speak of except shitty heated grips (still not sorted) & now a bit of paint blistering on final drive, only got 5 days of warranty left, no biggie if claim refused as its running well & very happy with bike..

Trouble is with this forum is that anyone who does post if they have problems face they wrath of those who would never admit any BMW has ever had a problem especially not the latest model which they also happen to own.

A proportion (but by all means not all ) of the new LC's both the GS and GSA have had more than their fair share of problems and I know BMW will fix then under warranty but the problems shouldn't be there in the first place

2014 R1200GS LC TE.

Screen replaced.
Exhaust valve replaced.
Corrosion on engine block.
Gearbox was very very notchy when the bike was pushed hard.

2015 R1200GSA LC TE now in my possession with the help of a £2K contribution from BMW.

May 2014 a proper one in red 26,000 miles, been on plenty of wild camping trips to Scotland, a few off road jollys used all winter,it even went for a swim in a ford on Sunday
Done LEJOG in 14 hours of non stop rain fully loaded and liked it so much, I went back the other way the next day,,,I did have a arse like a bangkok rent boy, but the bike was fine
It's been the best BM I have had
I think the secret is you need to show them no mercy :thumb

Forgot to mention heated grips are as much use as a one legged man in a arse kicking competition

That's the only real complaint I have about mine and Allan Jefferies aren't interested in fitting 2015 grips under warranty

The ESA occasionally changes to solo preload when parked up and it's had a front brake master cylinder cap and the right hand switchgear replaced under warranty.

Other than that, it's the best bike I've owned and it's still putting a smile on my face after 11500 miles.

The main problem is that SWMBO loves it too and insists it's a keeper, so I'm struggling to justify buying an S1000XR next spring :tears

Toddmeister , this sentence made me smile ..sums it all up !

White 2013 LC - 16000mls no problems , 2015 lowered LC 9500mls getting slight ache in my knee, will speak to the dealer , great bikes

April 2015 R1200 GSA TE, 6,400 miles, not a problem in site! Loving it and miss it any day I don't ride! :P
