Hi all. My 34 year old son is having problems trying to insure a bike.
He keeps running up against the moronic chimps of Bennetts and Computer says no
I am trying to give him a very nice 1998 Honda CBR900 Fireblade that was sold new in UK in 1998 and then registered in Jersey in 2003. In the past, I have brought several bikes from Jersey to UK with no problems.
The cretins at Bennetts are insisting that this makes the bike an "Import" and they on't quote on it. I told them that 99% of bikes in UK are imports as nothing is made in UK. Secondly, I tried talking very slowly and explained that "import" marker is or grey imports like my two 400 Babyblades that were never officially imported. To no aval, "Nqh, if it comesvfrom Jersey it is an import".
Then there is the definition of garage. My son has a very nice house in nice area but it goes not have a garage. Instead it has a high walled rear garden with access via a strong door/gate. I suggested that he get a steel garage to go in back garden but apparently this is still not good enough.
Can anyone suggest a broker who can help us please?
