a friend of mine in Italy has problems with the front rim of a 1200 GSA, it seems that he is not the only one having these problems here, they changed the front wheel twice but after a short period the problem comes back.

now he send the wheel to change all the spokes for stronger type and is waiting for it to come back.

think he will resolve ?

any tips ?

the spokes are the same of the 1150, never had or heard of these kind of problems in the past, seems its only a problem of the 1200.

the problem is that after 2000km circa it gets out of balance, the first wheel that arrived to be changed was already a mess before getting mounted !

i can't believe its only a problem for the Italian market ! :blast

Mine Too! UK bike

I have a similar problem with my 1200GSA - when I had new tyres fitted the tyre fitters (specialist bike place) said they couldn't get the wheel balanced as the rim was out of balance. Took it to BMW and they said it was within the tolerance levels stipulated by BMW, I can definately feel a wobble from the front so going to book into another dealer for second opinion. :(

exact same thing in Italy, they answer the same way !!!!!

after spending all those £ and Euros for a bike thats made for adventure, can't except that kind of treatment ! :mcgun

Front Wheel

I had a problem with the front after returning from the Gambia:mcgun on my 1200GSA...long and interesting story. The dealership knew I had taken it off road. The wheel was buckled and was not covered under warranty..£600+ to be replaced:eek: .
