Has any body tried the MRA touring windshield and spoiler on a 2019+ 1250 GS? cheers.

No but I have one fitted to my 1200. Much depends on your build and which helmet and earplugs you're wearing. For me, this is about as good as it gets...

Thats exactly what I have on my GSA (also 2019)

I'm 6ft 2 and now have zero issues with wind on my helmet
Is that the one with the stabilising bracket or without? thanks for your input.

I didn't even know they had a stabilising bracket

Mine is identical as Schtum

Easy to adjust on the move if you do need some air

I've fitted the Cymarc screen supports on mine. Without them it was bending back enough at speed to contact my GPS.

Yes, I use a MRA X-Creen Vario on my GSA. I had it on the GS before. It's good and fully adjustable at 3 points to get the best from it.

I used an MRA screen on my GS which I found an improvement , not fitted it to my GSA yet.

Good luck with wind noise on your GS. I gave up in the end and have since opted for the GSA which for me is so much better on wind noise.

The best set up I ended up with after trying the standard screen/standard screen plus flip/ MRA Touring with flip was finally a Givi tall screen with brace as per the pic'.

This set up worked best with my Arai X4, but after a long motorway blast ~80 ish my ears were ringing for days. I use custom ear plugs too.

Should have kept that Cymarc headlight guard....

Cheers, you have my sympathy as a long time tinnitus sufferer! I have now ordered the MRA touring screen with a spoiler and will see how i get on

Helmet choice very relevant. The Arai X4 with peak & wide visor is great for road riding although for sure more noisy than my Arai X7 which itself isn't the quietest helmet out there.

I'd seriously consider a Schubert if they didn't have the internal visor..

Curious as to why you say you’d consider if it didn’t have an internal visor?
It’s something I now look for in a lid and wish Arai would do one.

I wear spec's now for road riding with my Arai X4, but not with my Arai RX7 due to lack of space although I can just squeeze them in should I wish. Track riding & trials riding, plus looning around on my Bonnie with an open helmet I do not wear glasses. So I don't need glasses to see where I'm going, but I do if I need to read the dash or sat nav at a glance - same in a car.

I did try a Shoei Neotec flip up thing with an inbuilt Senna intercom when I got my last GS new in 2020. I hated that helmet so much that whilst up in Scotland I wanted to simply throw it away and go buy a cheap one just to get me home. Luckily perhaps there weren't any helmet shops up on the North coast and into Syke so I brought it home with me never to be worn again.

Why? Because the internal sun visor, plus spec's & plus the main visor (can't remember if it had a pinlock..) meant that the optical distortion & light actually getting through were both dangerously poor - for me. The intercom/sound was totally hopeless & maybe this is linked to the OP question about noise...

I have for as long as I can remember always worn an Arai (did have a Lawson Shoei road helmet in the '80s to match my LC) & that quality you get used to. The Shoei felt cheap & not safe, so that and the crap visuals meant I got rid plus the flip up chin bar was flimsy.

There is a reason that Arai do not install an internal visor & that's because they won't compromise on safety.

As soon as the new Arai Tour X5 is available in colours & in size Large, I will have one immediately (awaiting my 'in stock' email from Sportsbikeshop). I find the visor swapping on the X4 a PITA, but the visuals through the tinted/non-tinted visors with pinlock is superb with spec's too. Arai lining, vents etc all top class stuff.

I always used to go for dark drop down visor before I had the Klim Krios Pro with transitions visor, it's brilliant. And is light as a feather, all day comfort.

As good as an Arai?

Maybe worth considering...
