Folks

My 1200 has been laid up for about two year now :( (I've been out of the country) and the Bike needs it's first MOT, I've booked it in without asking for any 3000 / 6000 Mile (yet), it's only done 2600 miles. Should the dealer pick up the Product enhancements?

Or do I have to fork out my money on the service before they do that?

:oonyack I need to get back on the bike I'm having withdrawal symptoms :(

Any dealer worth their salt should, at the very least, make you aware of what recall/enhancement work is going to be required.

I'd make a point of asking them about it when you take it in. I assume that you're going to have an "Annual" service carried out whilst its there.
If that is the case then the work should be done as part of that.

Let us know how you get on.

2 years you say. Blimey you poor sod! ;)

Ok!

Put the bike in yesterday, and they said only if I put in for a service will they even check.

So (my interpretation on that is) I have to pay for them to bother to check.

There are two things for the dealer to check
1) Recalls/safety checks - they can do this with just the VIN number.
2) Software versions/updates for the electronics.
To do this they will have to take a paying customers machine out of the workshop, connect up the diagnostics, and run the checks. Probably chargeable workshop time.
