To those folks who have them, do your progressive fork springs change the off road/rough road performance of your F800/650 and would you recommend them for off road use?

I have the hyperpro's and while they don't turn the forks into something KTM would fit they do make a difference. Offroad they ride a bit better, don't bounce off little stuff as much and don't bottom out as much, on road they do help to reduce brake dive.
After I fitted the front springs I found I was then not happy with the back end and eventually got the rear spring as well. I fitted speed bleeders to the forks but now find that I am not happy with the front compared to the back, but everything from here like changing the fork internals or getting the Ohlins inserts is either time consuming and/or expensive.
I still think for the cost they are a great way to go. I think I would fit some Slaven or KTM bleeders at the same time as they help a bit as well. Perhaps you should even save some freight and get the rear spring at the same time because you won't be happy with the back after you do the front!
as part of the bike rebuild, i'm fitting Yacugar suspension front and back next week. Progressive fork springs on the front and a S-RS rear shock with high and low speed compression damping and the external nitrogen reservoir. It was either that or the ohlins, but for me the Yacugar has won the day.
Si, what kind of money are the Yacugar, theres no prices on the website, and are you fitting them yourself. Apologies for the personal questions, but I hope to be doing some offroad trails abroad in the future and want something decent as i am a chunky lad!
The Yacugar are around £900 all in. I can fit the rear S-RS but not the front springs. The rear shock is a 45 min job. It's about a 3-4 week delivery time as they engineer the shock for your weight. It's more versatile than the Ohlins and by all accounts more suited to off-road, hence I opted for it.

You probably don't need to rush into it fella. I got 38k glorious miles out of the stock set-up, and at least half of that in the most punishing off-road terrain in around, and it did brilliantly. Ride it for a while and see what you think. Mine will be back on the road in 5 weeks or so as the rear shock is being made at the factory now. I'll let you know the difference when the bike is good to go again.
