there was a link a while ago about a plastic side stand extender but it didnt fit the 06 stand foot profile properly.. has anyone found an alternative???

im not after a larger stand foot - just thae bit that stops the bike leaning over so much.

No Pictures as bike is long gone but what I did was drilled 3 holes in the foot of the stand, placed the puck under it and marked the holes, then drill 3 off 4mm holes and screwed 3x5mm diameter roofing bolts in (The plated ones with the large heads) They were exactly the right length and they self tap in to the rubber of the puck and did not need nuts underneath :thumb

Any chance of a picture?

I used to play Ice Hockey so had a puck lying in my loft and fitted on my GS when I got the bike. I find it makes the bike easier to handle being only 5'7". I felt the original sidestand lent over too much but with a ice hockey puck I find it far better. It is also great for soft ground as you can see from attached pictures. I attached it with about 5 larger self tapping screws and some large washers overlapping the original sidestand foot. Then covered them in some black gutter sealant from local poundshop. Folds up with plenty clearance of exhaust and centre stand when riding.

good in icy conditions? as standard then no - but the puck has 2 smooth hard plastic faces - take this off and it should be fine leaving a grippy rubber surface.

here is mine:

i countersunk the underside and used 2 bolts with locking nuts. however mine doesnt lean over anywhere as much as skyenets.

its one of the best and cheapest mods i made!
