I am in the market for a new textile jacket and trousers- I currently have RevIt at the minute and dont want it again- have had a jacket burst at the pocket seam and waterproof liner failed and also had two sets of factor pants- the waterproof liner failed in the first set and now the hip has split at the stitching- dread to think what would happen in a crash.

Problem being is that I am of a larger size than normal- I am 5.10 and about 19st- 46-48 chest and 40-42 waist. Ordinary gear like Dainese and Gericke never seem to make a size big enough.

I regularly use the bike for commuting to work so need the trousers to go over a pair of combats or work pants- the jacket isnt much of an issue as long as its warm in winter, cool in summer and doesnt leak. I am also not made of money so cant stretch to BMW kit or Rukka.

Any suggestions or has anyone picked up a good deal recently??

Lot of folk like Halvaarsons -have Rev'It myself, and no problems so far, but Halvaarsons is meant to be very waterproof, warm and not massively expensive. Don't know if they do the "slightly larger " sizes though !! Sure someone who wears it regularly will add their comments.
Out of interest, did Rev'Its not offer new jacket etc to replace faulty one ? They are pretty hot on building a name for the brand.

DIFI or DANE bloody good stuff and DIFI is really good value in my opinion.

and they're sponsoring me so if you need any let me know.

info can be found on

hope that helps

I'm very happy with my Spidi Tour S5 (top right on this page):

It's a very well thought out jacket, completely waterproof (including the pockets) and is quite warm enough this time of year (it has a detachable quilted lining which can be worn by itself). On the coldest nights or mornings I have also worn a ColdKillers top over my North Face base layer, so not too bulky.

Get yourself onto ebay. There are some excellent deals on BWM Streetguard which is a cracking bit of kit. Some of the stuff is brand new from a dealer (Clarks IIRC).

JTS also do clothing for the "larger" gentleman.
