There's no traffic after dark and if I fall off I could be there all night, in a drain ditch, or in the River Dee. Maybe I need a van?

There's on a couple of hundred meters of tarmac to an unadopted road then it turns into fun-time. I think I would be accused of being negligent to attempt the unsurfaced roads in the dark on a big heavy bike if something happened.

How many "Wot a knob, tw*t, idiot, etc", posts would there be when reporting my broken leg?

I tell you what it was well slippery in the back of the cab. When I told the geezer where I was going he says "I know that" and decides he's going for it.

I'll be down the scrap yard tomorrow morning to weight in his Catalytic convertor. I didn't even need to use my torch.
