Puig Hugger

My experience with huggers to say the least has been mixed, that is why i opted for one of these a while ago.
The crud can fairly easy be removed, but it concerned me what might of been happening to me ESA shock, so i fitted one of these & as they say never looked back and only a fraction the price of a hugger.

Like the look of the shocktube thingy, i suppose it could be used on the front shock spring as well :nenau

Puig

Hi,

I've just ordered one. They told me tat the new stock was do to arrive last Tuesday ( due to high demand) and I should receive it by this weekend.
I will let you know what it's like.
NB. They haven't taken any mony yet.

Best Regards,
John

Could any of you that have fitted this hugger tell us if it rattles ? Most huggers do. Any feedback is much appreciated !

i got mine off ebay. paid a bit more than that. i keep having to jetwash my bike just the same as before. my advice would be to try and cancel the order and look out for the ilmberger carbon job. i couldn't find a good used one but saw one just after getting the puig (sods law).

most people swear by the ilmberger and after seeing on one of my customers bikes it looks better than any picture and is really well made.

I've got the Ilmberger and it does look very nice.........but does bugger all - I still get soaked on the back of my rucksack and the back of the bike still gets covered in crap.....AND it was a bloody fortune as well !

Help with Torque settings please

My hugger has now arrived and I am going to fit it tomorrow. Would anyone happen to know the torque settings for the brake caliper and suspension link bolts shown in the instructions below please? The smaller ones holding the bracket to the hugger are already fitted.

I ordered one of these on 5th December from http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/ after reading this thread. I have yet to receive any goods from them despite a number of emails. They took £158.01 from my credit card on 5th December, six and a half weeks ago. The hugger is now advertised at £151.22 on their website. I've sent another email to them and await the reply with baited breath.

Has anyone else dealt with this company?

I need to correct my previous comments about the pricing of the PUIG hugger. My original assertion that the price had come down was totally incorrect.:blast

The price I paid included the postage, something that I completely forgot, and that comes to about £10 so the price now is £161.22, i.e. more than I paid for mine. I can't give the price precisely as the detail is on my other computer. Either way I was wrong about the price.

I felt I needed too make that clear so that http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/ don't lose any custom as a result of my mistake.

BTW the hugger is now fitted, although I did have to invest in a new torque wrench and some torx bits to remove the original bolts.

Apart from the delay a good experience all round :thumb2

BTW 2, they now have the huuggers in stock and more on the way.

Check your Puig hugger

The aluminum mounting bracket on mine broke whilst on holiday

If it had jammed the rear wheel we could have had three kids at home without parents - seriously unimpressed and I've ordered an American Mudsling with the refund I got from the suppliers as I didn't want another Puid hugger :(
