I fitted the Puig Touring screen to my 1250, plus screen supports, yesterday. Took it out for a quick spin today.

I know screens are a hugely personal thing, and the effect they have has lots of variables, but I'm really impressed by it. With the original screen on its highest setting I noticed it massive difference in wind noise just by hunching my head down an inch or two. Without that, it was really quite noisy (though maybe I'm spoilt as my previous bike had a fantastic fairing).

New screen is a tiny bit higher on its lowest setting than original screen on its highest setting. A small turn on the knob to lift the new screen by an inch and it's goes magically quiet.

It also seems to flex less than the original screen, though that's clearly the function of the additional supports. I've found the optimum position for me and tightened the bolts to clamp it in place. (Adjustability is still a quick turn of a 13mm spanner away.)

Thoroughly recommended.

100% agree, most of my miles are motorway and I tried 2/3 different makes before I got a puig and it was literally night and day, I got the wunderlich screen stays and it’s absolutely perfect

Can I ask if this is on a GS or a GSA?

I have a 1250 GSA coming in a couple of weeks and will probably be looking to change the screen.

I ran a Puig on my Rallye... much better then Oem in every way

Yup, same on my GS with support brackets. Never moves from its lowest setting. I mostly ride with my visor open in all weathers. Summer time I put the Rallye screen on.

I installed Puig Touring on my new 1250GS. It's perfect for wind protection but I still have some little buffeting on the top of my helmet at higher speeds. Ordered the spoiler for it and will see if it calms the turbulence hitting my helmet.

I fitted the Puig screen with the winglet doodah to my 1250GSA as I get horrendous wind buffeting, assumed it was the standard screen. Even on the highest setting it's just as bad so I've reverted back to standard. Can't work out where it's coming from but it's awful especially compared to my last bike (Triumph Explorer 1200).

The hand guards seem to push a lot of air between the top of them and the mirror stalk but even blocking that out the buffeting is still bad. Only thing that helps is ducking down which isn't practical lol

I find your crash helmet is a contributing factor as much as the screen is.

My Arai Tour X4 is a properly noisy helmet and is susceptible to wind rush noise from turbulent air coming over/around the screen and up under the chin area. As slight forward nod can help this but riding all the time with a permanent nod isn't feasible and it never really goes away whatever the screen height/speed is. It also drums if I wear ear plugs and hearing the Sena clearly is tricky.

I have a new Shoei Neotec to try when it brightens up a bit alongside my Arai RX7V full face, but I prefer to keep that for sports bike/track riding.

If the Shoei is better & I think it will be as the neck seal is far neater thanks to the flip design for closing the neck area then it'll get the Sena swapped over.

My comments relate to my bike which is a GSA.

EAR PLUGS ALSO

I notice massive differences depending on what ear plugs i use. I bought some of those moulded to fit your ear at the bike show and they are rubbish, i get much better results using the foam type (As long as pushed in well), but If i want to listen to music some cheap Skull Candy ones work much better ! My helmet is a Shoei Neotec.

Cheers

I cut 40mm from the top of mine, so I could if wanted, have some airflow onto me. I was finding in hot weather, that it killed all the air and maybe even brought hot air up from the engine. Now it can be up and I'm in a bubble with no noise or anything, or it can be down with airflow.
