Pulled up at the lights

Now that's what I call Quite Good :thumb2

Hey how about making the middle one switchable :D you Sir Melch are a fucking Genius:blast:D

Oh you guys! no, really, this is too much, please, don't, it was really nothing. :thumb

(Middle one? I thought it was a twin. Must be a triple then. Crikey even more scope then. Triple to a twin, pop another and you're down to a (not so big) single. You Sir, have the ultimate motorcycle and you didn't know it!)

Somewhere along the line in all this GS and adventure bike bolloxs we've missed the point. Who do you think is having the adventure.

Its only a certain proportion of folk with GS's who even remotely think of themselves as ADVENTURERS and go seeking feckin sand dunes to play with.

These guys on their harley's are doin what most of us do, going touring some country or other on a bike.

Difference is .... most of us who do this have a partner who likes to be reasonably comfortable, have a sleep, and have room for clothes, and be able to see things while we enjoy ourselves on the front seat.
If I stuck her on the back of a 'bobber', it would probably be the last biking holiday she wanted to go on. Hence the GS. Big and comfy wi boxes for shoes and stuff. The boxes are also good for strapping your jacket and trousers and boots onto when shorts and tee shirts and sandals are the riding gear chosen for the day

As for jeans and jackets. nout stopping anybody doing that on one. It aint compulsory .... although frowned upon by the atgat brigade who have obviously been brainwashed into thinking that the moment they 'unprotect themselves', they are going to fall off.

Neil .... yer getting as bad as the gsers now. Are you saying that in order to be a 'cool' bikey dude, you have to have a particular bike and image?

No............ I'm saying you don't have to have a GS (or an adventure bike) and overburden yourself with all the technical world has to offer or wear the latest in vogue motorcycle clothing to have an adventure.

I really care about image - My latest cool bikey dude bike is a 32 year old honda 250, with a purple metal flake finish. . :D

I have got more than one bike :thumb

Guzzi 1110 Griso
Guzzi Mk1(ish) LeMans
Guzzi T3 / Watsonian Monza
WMB R1200GS
Husaberg F450
Mobylette 50

They are all slow......................

...............I'm hankering after speeeeeed again :D

Andres

I do apologise.

I was thinking that if something went over 70mph it was fast.

Had a great afternoon with 15 bhp, hit 45 at one point. No wonder a GS feels like a rocket ship after that.

These bobbers pulled up in front of me yesterday, pic taken through the car window on my very old nokia phone, hence the murk.

A couple of very old harleys, and two british bikes.
They looked so relaxed, all packed up and ready to ride to ...........Spain. No twat suits or armoured clothing, just jeans, boots and a jacket.

See, it's all so simple if you want it to be.

took out maverics Airhead the other day and fell in love with plodding around .......waddya reakon time for a C90:augie:D:D:D

Well my 955i has just completed a circular tour of Spain and Portugal. For once the daily mileages did not exceed 200 miles. We kept our speed down between 50 to 60 on average. We saw more arrived more relaxed and were at destinations by mid afternoon latest..................yes at times you have to use the throttle to pass something but that was so infrequent........Fuel consumption has never been as good...........way to go.

Flared Levis, western boots, cheesecloth shirt and a Budgie jacket.

:D

What's the big deal... it's 4 blokes on four bikes. :nenau

Buy a bike of that age and no doubt you could be the fifth on their next ride.

Go take a look at a VMCC bash, there's loads of iron and blokes like that...... that's how they roll.

There is a lot to be said for touring on an old bike. Lower the speed and you see more. It all becomes more relaxed and keeps you on the twisty roads. I have a plan for a Brit bike adventure next year if anyone is interested?

THAT IS BECAUSE YOU ARE GETTING OLD..and going fast now scares you !
