Puncture Repair Kit

I also have a mini compressor but generally don't carry it in London as it just rattles in the top box. And I'm always close enough to a garage..
Mine just stays in the pannier rack mounted tool box with the kit, I forget it's there. 😂😂😂

I never leave home without mine. It lives in the panniers rail toolbox.

I have carried and used pretty much all the available solutions. I have had Stop n Go repairs fail and Dynaplug repairs fail. I’ve seen holes that neither Dynaplug nor Stop n Go could fix.

The only punctures I’ve seen that good old sticky strings couldn’t fix needed a new tyre.

They’re cheap, simple to use and fix more problems than any of the alternatives. What more could you want or need?

…apart from a couple of rubber-glue coated self-tappers for a rapid repair to a little puncture

Funny enough, was out riding today with a buddy. 20 miles in says he has a puncture on his rear, 1200R. He didn't have a repair kit. I used 1 rats tail sticky string thingy and 3 cannisters of air. Got his tyre plugged and up to 1.1bar. Enough to get to a garage and put pressure to correct. rode the 20 miles back and all still inflated to correct pressure. Oh and the tyre had a cm long slit in the middle. We both doubted a rat's tail would work. I didn't even have to ream out a hole it was that easy. So I am happy to say this is the type of kit I carry and know it works.

I wouldn't want to ride 20 miles with 14 psi in a back tyre!

Stop N Go - easy to use and held with no issues. TBF, you couldn't have had a more easy tyre to repair: screw in centre of thread at a right angle to the surface. Would have been a bitch to do though if I didn't carry tools to get the mudguard off.

I’ve also got a small compressor that I’ve attached an optimate connector to.
Used it just the other day when a young lady stopped near Ladybower with a slow puncture.

Stop & Go kit; used 3 times on friends bike whilst away - worked perfectly.

I have a small kit in the bike top box & a bigger kit (with a plug gun) in the car.

I did 30 with 7. Took it really easy.
What I learnt was you can travel far with a puncture.
I won't be getting stuck in the Pyrenees again for 7 hours when the next town is reachable with low pressure.

We didn't. It plugged and was up to 1.1, then we went 2 miles to the garage and inflated it to 2.9...then rode home, no air loss...
