Having just repaired yet another puncture, in the last month I’ve had 2, I am considering some form of sealant to put into my inner tubes. I know there are various threads already on this subject but they have mainly concerned tubeless tyres.

Breaking the bead, removing the tyre and repairing the tube is no problem but trying to do it by the side of the road is. Luckily this last occasion happened within a mile of work so I was able to ride the bike back to the yard and fix it there and then.

Does anybody know of any problems with using a tyre sealer?

Do they work?

What one would you recommend?

Not sure if sealent works to well with tubes, never used it myself. Give it a go, I have seen mixed opinions. The worse that can happen is that you have to buy 2 new tubes. You say you are new to bikes, don't buy tyres or tubes from motorcycle dealers they are normally twice the price of what a tyre specialist charges. Watling Tyres is the best in your area, free fitting to loose wheels or about £5 to remove the wheels they also balance wheels as well.

Good Luck
