I thought I would post this thread on this produced called puncture safe as it may stop this happening to someone else.
I had the blue stuff called puncture safe put in my gs tyres this year after reading all the info from the company, thinking I will not need any punture repair gear I left it at home, to make space for other items, me and two friends went to Ireland on late August bank holiday leaving Sunderland Saturday morning to get the ferry from Stranraer that evening as we got within a few miles my back end felt lose so I pulled over to find I had a puncture and the blue stuff just kept running out of the punture we managed to get to the furry, i thought I was buggered for that weekend I was mad to think that this punture safe was suppose to be the dogs,
When i got on the ferry I went on my iPad and found this guy on line that was a mobile motorbike tyre service, it was 18-30 Saturday evening when the ferry docked and this lad met me me off the ferry to put a new tyre on and the cost was £150, I would have payed double that. The weekend was great with no other issues, when I got back I contacted punture safe sending a email to tell them how there product didn't work and how it could have ended my weekend, I asked for my money back as I still had some of the blue stuff left, to received a reply telling me that there was noting wrong with there product and told it was my fault, it's my fault I had a punture???.....all I would say is please be aware that if you put it in your tyre take other precautions as well.

Just like plugs, you can't stem the flow from every puncture.
These liquids work best centre of the tread where the liquid is spread thickest by centrifugal force, and on holes that are perpendicular to the carcass. If the hole is too big, off to one side or at an angle then it often won't plug.
But then the same is often true when using a repair plug. Generally if the liquid doesn't work a plug won't either.
I used slime successfully for years.

It does work but be carefull I had a issue with a puncture and the offending item had gone in at a aquard angle and did lots and lots of damage. Probly would have been worse without the green slime but I would have known about it earlier without so much damage. JJH

If the hole was more than 6mm in diameter, in the sidewall or was caused by something that left jagged edges then puncturesafe don't guarantee its effectiveness. On punctures it can't plug it will have helped you to come to a controlled stop.

It's very important to ensure the right amount of liquid goes in when installed, a bit too much is okay, but too little isn't.

Puncturesafe works the majority of the time, but it can't work on every kind of puncture, which even the manufacturer admits.

I would normally say, quite mildly, "Sorry Adam, I disagree with you there mate."

I know how you'll react though, and it's always fun reading you blow your top, so I'll say:

"That's bollox.:rob"

Disagree all you like.
It's my experience over many thousands of miles.
MOST punctures I had whist using it were sorted with slime. ALL that were not, were unable to be sorted by a plug either.
Only reason I stopped using slime was it gets bleedin expensive when you go through so many sets of tyres a year...

However all liquids are probably not equal. I can only vouch for the tubeless slime...

Ultraseal

I used to use a product called Ultra Seal before i had bikes fitted with tyre pressure monitors and can honestly say that it worked well. On two occasions i had screws stuck in my rear tyre and never reallised they were there until i next got bike out. Maybe i was just lucky at the time but now i always make room for tyre plugger.

PunctureSafe is the UK version of Ultraseal (they used to be the same company). The main difference is that PS is water soluble and so much easier to clean and dispose of, ultraseal use a chemical used in antifreeze.
