Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes !
I aggreed to buy a GSA long distance but it looked a good buy at a reasonable cost. Booked the train to travel the 200+ mile to pick the bike up and arranged the insurance. The day before travel, and dont ask why I left it so late but I decide to do a HPI check. The check advised that the bike had more owners than advertise :spitfire .
My question is I'm I right to pull out of the deal ? :nenau

Hmmmm....could be a genuine oversight on the seller's part, or it could point to summat more sinister. How many other lies has he told? I'd be tempted to go and see it and talk to the guy, then make your decision. There's plenty of other fish in the sea!

how many more owners?

if its one, then it might be an oversite, say for instance a demonstrator

if its a few, i would be wary

anyway, i would discuss it with the seller

200+ miles is a long way to go to say no !
Its had one more owner than disclosed and it could have been a demo but I cant confirm this till next week when the selling dealer re-opens.
No its not the only, er iffy thing thats happened, no doubt the guy has done things with the best intentions but communication hasnt been brill and this just got me thinking. The guy wants top money and I understand that but GSA's prices just aren't as high as owners expect currently and there's plenty of fish in the sea as mentioned.
I feel awful about it but it is my money after all and its easy to look at the log book and see how many owners the bikes had, isn't it one of the first things you would look at ?

what your saying, is that you want to walk away from the deal, but want us to support you in that decision, if thats how you feel, then i think, you should not buy it, as you will regret it when even minor things go wrong.

tell them you have HPi'd it and its come back with to many owners and because of that, your no longer interested, what's to feel bad about, its your money :nenau

No definitely don't want to walk away but don't want to get fleeced either. If you cant get the owners right what else could be hidden ?
I still have to find a bike what ever!

200 miles is a long way to say no

no milage is ever worth buying something that is not right, you travel that distance in the hope its right, if you are wrong, then you have to say no, wether its 2 miles away or 2000 miles away :nenau

first you say its a good buy at reasonable cost, then you say they want top money for it :nenau

You ask, if your right to pull out of the deal, then say you definatly don't want to walk away :nenau

i am not clear, what help your asking for exactly :D

I suppose I'm asking is the bike worth the same money ?

only you can decide that :nenau

if it were me though, i would take this avice :thumb

Hi,
I don't think another owner on the log book would make much difference to me. If the HPI showed up accident damage or outstanding finance I would be worried.
If you let the guys on the Forum know the details i.e. year, mileage, condition, etc. I am sure they will give you an idea of it's value.
Then you can decide if you are being fleeced or not.
Regards Kevin.

Is the seller counting himself amongst the number of previous owners ?

HPI wiil count everyone as an owner . - i.e. if the owner is telling you whats printed in the log book in the number of previous owners, ( example 3 prev owners) but not counting himself, but HPI is counting the 3 prev, and the current owner.

Simple to just ask the seller, not us. :nenau

If he is telling porkies trying to get a sale, then tread carefully.

No Steptoe, I've included the current owner, Ringing Rainbow tomorrow to see if it was registered as a demo first.

No it was not a demo and has had two owners in the first year, 1st owner had running problems.
Were now ?
